Medical Component Specialists has long been committed to providing superior service and excellent products. For these reasons, facilitating growth to meet the current and future needs of the medical device OEMs that rely on us has never been more important. This is why we’re excited to open our third facility and continue to expand our capabilities.
MCS’s operations will soon expand to a new 18,000-square-foot nitinol facility. This facility can support in-line continuous CNC cell machining, which offers the highest degree of accuracy and efficient manufacturing of nitinol products. These expanding capabilities include CNC straightening, CNC centerless grinding, automated true position drilling, CNC honing, and robotic EDM. In addition, MCS also expanded to a new 50,000-square-foot input tube facility in 2023.
To support the increased volume of nitinol production, MCS has secured a new supply chain and raw material partner. Our new offshore raw material partner is ASTM F2063 certified and all materials undergo independent testing at a US-based lab to ensure materials meet ASTM specifications. This new partnership will supply 500 kg of nitinol per month in the first quarter of 2024, before increasing to 1,000 kg in Q2 and 1,500 KG in Q4. These developments will enable MCS to produce greater quantities of nitinol drills, wires, staples, and pusher wires.
MCS also looks forward to the delivery of two custom long-stroke technology machines during the third quarter of 2023. These machines will enable the production of seamless tubing for aerospace, orthopedic trauma, and interventional medicine applications. They will also have a cannulated bar for implantable Swiss machining.
